Tommy is a partner in our banking and finance team in the Cayman Islands. Tommy advises on a wide range of banking and finance matters and has considerable experience acting for financial institutions, sponsors and major corporates. He advises on all types of financing matters with a particular focus on leveraged and corporate finance, project finance and asset finance. He has considerable experience acting on a broad range of fund finance transactions (including subscription line facilities, NAV facilities and hybrid facilities).
Background and experience
Tommy specialises in banking and finance and is also part of Ogier's multi-disciplinary Private Equity team and has particular experience in acting for private equity firms in corporate debt and leveraged finance transactions. He also has extensive experience acting for financial institutions and major corporates in relation to leveraged and corporate finance, project finance and corporate restructurings.
Tommy frequently advises on all types of fund finance matters for both financial institutions and private equity sponsors, and in particular, has significant experience advising on subscription and capital call financings, NAV facilities and hybrid facilities.
Tommy has extensive experience in asset finance matters and regularly advises on aviation and shipping finance transactions including secured lendings in respect of Cayman registered private yachts. Tommy also regularly advises on corporate matters and has a particular focus on advising on the formation and listing of SPACs.
Prior to joining Ogier, Tommy was part of the banking and finance team at Gilbert & Tobin in Sydney. Before moving to Sydney, Tommy trained and practised at William Fry in Dublin (2008-2012).
Tommy received his LLB in Law and European Studies from the University of Limerick in 2007.
Tommy is a member of the Law Society of Ireland and the Cayman Islands Legal Practitioners Association.
